Abstract

This article details the case law, statutes, codes and procedural rules that govern the assessment of economic damages in personal injury (PI) and wrongful death (WD) cases in the state courts of Louisiana. Despite the fact that Louisiana is the only state in the union whose law is founded upon the civil law tradition, practicing forensic economists will find little deviation from standard methodology.
